Intro

I’ve had the discussion about the Philippines with many people. To be honest, I’ve gotten quite mixed results. Some people like it and others don’t. When I first went to the Philippines last year, I didn’t like it because I was comparing it to more developed countries. After reflecting back on my trip, I realized that it was quite an adventure different from other countries I had been to. A summary of my last trip: I went to really nice beaches, closed a hot Filipino girl I met on the beach, got burned on a motorbike, got ripped off by cab drivers, and I encountered many beggars.

The second time going to the Philippines I wanted to focus more on the positive aspects of this country. This helped me have an even more enjoyable trip than last year. It also helped that I had a friend who could show me around Manila. In this article, I lay down some of the pros and cons of the Philippines.

Pros

1. Warm Weather- It was nice to head down to the Philippines from Taiwan and feel the warmth when I got out of the airport. It felt like summer. Well, the Philippines is warm year round which is a huge plus!

2.Really nice beaches- If you want to check out the Philippines, then you gotta go to the beaches in Palawan, Boracay, or Bohol. I heard Bohol has the worlds smallest monkey that can fit in the palm of your hand.

3. Most people speak English- This is really nice since in many parts of Asia English is the main language. Filipinos use Tagalog, but most people you deal with on a daily basis can speak English. The only issue in the Philippines comes with pronunciation since I had trouble distinguishing certain words people were saying. This also helps when gaming girls because you can talk to them in English.

4. Malls- Manila and Cebu have tons of malls worth checking out. I’m not sure about the rest of the Philippines. The malls are a great place to pick up girls. If you are in Manila, head over to Greenbelt there are many nice cafes and restaurants there and a great area to meet a date. If you are in Cebu, check out Ayala Mall.

5. Cheap- It’s relatively cheap. Taxis are really cheap and jeepneys are even cheaper. I wouldn’t recommend riding the jeepneys because if your in a hurry to get somewhere they are quite slow.

Cons

1. Women- Generally, I felt that the women in Philippines weren’t that good looking. That’s not to say that there aren’t attractive women in Manila and Cebu. You just have to REALLY look for them. In Manila, I would go to Greenbelt and a club named Republiq to find more attractive women. In Cebu, I would go to Ayala Mall. Can anyone recommend some good clubs in Cebu?

2. Food- The food in the Philippines is quite international, and I was left wondering where are the Filipino restaurants? Could it be the hundreds of years of colonization has created an abundance of more Western style restaurants? On my last night, I tried Pork Adobo and it was delicious but we had to look pretty hard to find a Filipino restaurant.

3. Cabs- This is mainly a Manila issue but sometimes cab drivers can be jerks, and if your destination is close they might not drive you. My friend said if you can speak to them in some tagalog this can stop the cab drivers from taking advantage of you.

Merry Christmas to everyone! Wow, it’s been so long since my last post. Hopefully I still have some readers out there. I’ve been on a hiatus working on other aspects of my life, but I plan on coming on here when I get the chance. This blog was intended to be a place where I would write about my experiences being a traveling pick up artist, but it has actually been much more than that. I have met some really great guys through this blog, and also made some connections with other well-known PUA’s.

As the New Year comes, I have some big plans in store for the 2012 year. I want to travel to many more countries, and update on my adventures there. I don’t want this to be just another “pua” blog. I would like to incorporate food and culture into the blog, and that is what I will be working on this year as I travel to new countries. I am wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and I look forward to making some posts next year. It will be good to start writing again.

Take Care All,

Hey guys,

I apologize for taking a while to post on the blog. Things have been quite busy, but I wanted to let you in on something that has helped me when I’m out on the field. I’ve been keeping a journal with me, and it has helped me tremendously. When I first started using my journal, I would log every set that I opened.

Now, I just log all of the good sets and some facts about each girl I number closed. Trust me it will help! I open between 10-20 sets a day, and sometimes it’s hard to keep track of which girl you met on what day. There were times before when a girl would message me a week or two after meeting her then I would message her back and not know anything about her.

It’s much better to have the background info on her. I like to write down anything that interests me about her. For example, she lived in Italy for two years and speaks Italian. That would be great information to write down. When you meet her next time, you can bring it up. It also shows that you have a good memory. If you are in a foreign country, you can also write new words that you encounter when you are out in the field.

Also, I like to write down notes if she was doing anything when I met her. For example, if she was looking for a gift I would respond in the text message:

Me: Did you find a good gift for your friend? I bet you did…

How is that different from

Me: Hi, it was nice to meet you…

The first message relates to the situation and shows your target that you remembered something about her during the interaction. This message gives you more value and increases her chances of replying back to you.

Tips for the journal:

1. Make sure it’s pocket size- don’t buy a notebook size journal and carry it by hand all day!

2. Use it to your advantage- find certain things that may help you such as a good venue you came across or a systematic method of noting down your best sets of the day.

3. Reflect- after your done sarging for the day, write down something you can reflect on. Maybe you did something differently in set that could help you out next time. Bolo made a comment to me that I shouldn’t continue walking with girls after they walk away. I made sure to correct this and wrote it down in my journal as something to work on.

For the readers, do any of you use a journal in the field? What do you think are the advantages of using one?

“I need to get the hell out of Taipei,” I thought to myself. I never liked staying in one place for too long. It starts to become your whole world and contributes to you losing perspective. I decided that Kaohsiung would be a good place to go. See the sights and, you know, do a little bit of that ol’ sarging.

I didn’t make any plans. Didn’t even look up where I would stay. I just packed my bag and headed to the Train Station.

Getting There

If you take the regular train (aka. the slow one) it takes about 6 hours to arrive. The bus is about the same, depending on traffic. The high speed rail takes only 2.5 hours.

First Impressions – Nice Weather

First, the weather is a billion times nicer than Taipei. When I left Taipei, it was raining like crazy. I took my umbrella but still got soaked. Kaohsiung was nice and sunny. I was felt carrying my umbrella looking like one of those guys who wants to keep his skin milky white.

From what I understand it doesn’t rain much in Kaohsiung.

Chillax Ppl But Not Many Sights To See

The city is a lot slower and laid back than Taipei. MRT’s only come along every 4-6 minutes. When they do arrive you’re almost guaranteed to find a seat. I’ve been told that this MRT is hemorrhaging money.

If you exit Kaohshiung Main Station and head towards the MRT, you’ll see a building up ahead. It’s where you can pick up a map detailing all the sights to see here. Stuff is pretty Taiwan typical. Night markets and uhhh….. more night markets.

However, there is Monkey Mountain. The name is self explanatory. I didn’t go because there’s no easy way to get there. You pretty much have to have a scooter or hire a taxi to go there. Plus I didn’t want a monkey jacking me for my backpack. I’ve seen Congo. Fuck that shit.

Sarging

Pick up wise, I feel like Kaohsiung has tons of potential. I asked two different girls for directions and they actually gave me a scooter ride to where I wanted to go! Fucking unheard of in Taipei. In fact, one of the girls started calling up her friends and asking them if they wanted to take me out. Fucking incredible. I tried to make something happen with her but it never did.

Clubs

There are two main clubs here. I didn’t go to either. But here are the locations copied from the wikitravel article.

Lamp, 3F, 42 Zihciang 3rd Rd (MRT Sanduo Shopping District Station Exit 1, across from the 2 legged skyscraper)
Dreams, 125 Nantian St (MRT Sanduo Shopping District Station Exit 4, behind Sogo,)

I really want to try out night game here.

A lot of the sets I opened were really keen and eager to talk to me even on the street.

Long Term Stay

Kaohsiung is much cheaper than Taipei. I talked to some foreigners and they said to rent an apartment at a happening place like “Kaohsiung Area” costs about 5000NT or so.

Short Term Stay

The E Shie Hotel is a place I found near the two clubs. Rooms start from 600NT a night.

I ended up staying with some random person I met. I was walking around “Central park”, which is like Ximen and ended up meeting another foreigner who ran a hostel type of deal. He charged me 300NT to stay in his spare bedroom. At his place I ended up meeting his roomie and he invited me to go kick it in Kenting. It was fun. You never know what’s gonna happen when you travel.

The guys card is below:

I think of limiting beliefs as a major deterrent in developing your game. It’s always easy to make an excuse right. I’ve been in the game for a while, and you wouldn’t believe the excuses I sometimes here guys make.

1. “I don’t want to talk to her because I don’t know what to say”- Alot of guys get caught up in the opener. They think that they must have some amazing opener so they can attract the girl. Not really actually. If you have trouble deciding what to open with, just ask for the time or the directions. Make it seem natural as to the reason why you are talking to your target.

2. “What’s the point in wasting my time talking to women”- You aren’t wasting your time. Your developing a skill set, and over time you will develop relationships with women. You have to look at it as a time investment. We invest time in approaching women to reap the rewards later as our skill set improves.

3. “What if she doesn’t want to give me her number?”- I know the truth that many guys are afraid of rejection. When I first started picking up, I also felt bad if a girl wasn’t interested in me. You know what I do know? I don’t let it bother me if she doesn’t want to have further contact with me. I go out there and approach more girls because at the end of the day I will find a girl that wants to invest in our relationship.

4. “I don’t know how to talk to girls during the day.”- Many PUA’s focus on approaching at night. As a matter of fact, I specialize in day game these days for that very reason. There is less competition when you are out there during the day. Alot of guys need some beer to give them the courage to approach. When I first started approaching girls during the day, I had alot of approach anxiety. It took months and months of practice to get more comfortable approaching during the day. So my advice for this limiting belief is to get out of your shell, and just start talking to a few girls a day. Set a goal of how many women you want to approach. Start small then work towards bigger goals.

Those are a few limiting beliefs. If you can think of some more you have had or you know others have had, post them on here.

Initial Sarge:

This was one of my last sets of the day as I was getting out of my subway. I noticed this really cute girl with long dark hair waiting for her subway. I asked her about how to get to the brown line, and she said “Here let me walk you.” Off we were to the brown line. What I liked about her was that she bt spiked well, and her English was also good. I think wearing the suit today gave me added value since she asked me “Are you here on business?” Like Bolo mentioned “The suit demands respect.” I missed my train purposely so I could chat with HB Engineering more. During that time, I set up a timebridge for this weekend to meet up with her. No msn’s and no business cards were given. It was just a phone number. “Alas I numberclosed” I thought to myself…

Sidenote- She lived in Australia for two years and had a bit of an Aussie accent.

Day 2

We set up the meet for today @ 4PM and I chatted with her during the week via MSN. I reconfirmed with her today for the meet, and it was on. When I saw her, I was like “Yes” this girl is cute. She was wearing a pretty white dress and long black stockings. That’s why I love day game because it gives you the best choice of women and you are also sober. No beer googles going on! As far as a logistical game plan, I didn’t really have one. That showed when I met her and she asked me where are we going to go and I hesitated saying “Ughh we can go to this area or another area…” She even asked me “Are you nervous?” I rebounded by picking an area for us to go.

The first thing I noticed was that she grabbed my arm. This has always been a good sign for me when a girl initiates the kino. Any others with this experience? We walked for a bit down this side street near my place, and I came across a nice cafe. We went inside and ordered some sandwiches and coffee. I found out that she was 29 and only had long-term relationships. Her longest relationship had been eight years and she also hadn’t been on a date for over a year. Her reasoning was that she worked too much. Regardless, she was out to meet me so I didn’t let that bother me.

Another thing, she had a curfew of 12AM. Her parents were the traditional/strict type she mentioned. You would think that a girl being 29 would not have a curfew, but that wasn’t the case. We chilled in the coffee shop for a bit, and she was even laying on my shoulder. The seat I got was in the front where two people could sit down together. This makes it better for kino since you don’t have to sit across from each other. She took off her shoes and was laying on my shoulder again then I told her “Let’s go outside.” She went to the bathroom and paid the bill then we were off. I had seeded my place for movies and she showed no resistance in coming to my place.

There was one last stop to the convenience store to grab us two beers which she also paid for. She mentioned she wasn’t much of a drinker and that was evident when her face was turning red after half a beer. We took the elevator up to my place. We sat down on the couch and I showed her some pictures that I printed from my travels. It’s good to incorporate pictures because you can add a story element with each one.

I threw on a travel video with Anthony Bourdain. After a bit of time watching it, I went for the k close while shod to have physical pictures because you can tell a story with each one. The kino was like it was from the cafe. I suggested watching a travel video at my place. After the video, she was laying on my shoulders. There was no resistance, and she was actually a great kisser. She had very nice lips!

I continued to make out then go back to the show a few times. I asked her about how many relationships she had and she told me four. Finally, she told me “It’s been a long time.” Referring to the last time she had sex. The interesting thing is that I didn’t even have to mention sex. She knew what it was leading to from there, and it was just a matter of leading on my part. I DID NOT get any resistance from her. I passionately started making out with her and took off her dress then she took off my shirt. She went to the bathroom shortly after then that’s when I moved to the mattress which was next to the couch.. It was more making out then I progressed to f-closing. It was my fault for not defining the context of the relationship because she asked me “Are we dating?” during sex. I told her “Yes.” I will need to be more clear about defining the relationship with girls I am sarging during Phase 2. We took a shower afterwards.

What I liked about this girl was that I was REALLY attracted to her. She had a very nice body and cute face. It’s good to go after girls that are 8′s or higher because when you are sarging them it makes your game stronger. I liked how she paid for everything and had a motherly nature about her. When we went to the night market later, she used tissue to clean my hands after I ate the food. We hung out till a little bit after her curfew then I got her on a cab home. I do plan on seeing this girl again. She’s a KEEPER

Still tired from my trip to Manila I set off to Kaohsiung for the lantern festival to meet a few girls I knew. One of them, I met online and the other target was a friend of a friend. Before I was heading to the HSR station, I went on the MRT in Taipei and opened a couple sets. The first set had luggage with her and I asked her “Which stop is the main station?” She told me she was also getting off at that stop. She seemed a bit reserved at first, but I cracked a few jokes. Bt spiking works well when in attraction phase. I also made sure to write down some Mandarin phrases to write down and practice using in set. Thanks for the advice Blue.

We walked out of the MRT and I asked her “Can you help me get to the HSR station?” She walked with me and showed me where it was. Before I was about to leave, I asked her “Let’s get some coffee @ Starbuck’s you can teach me some Chinese hehe ”She gave me her number and then I went to pay for my ticket to Kaohsiung. I wanted to grab some food before I made the trip so I went to look for an ATM since the person at the convenient store wouldn’t let me use my card. I went upstairs and walked past another convenience store… That’s when I ran into another cutie.

She walked out of the convenience store and I decided to open her. “Where’s the nearest ATM?” I asked her… She was looking around to help me find it, but after walking around the station she offered to get me some lunch. Pretty cool I thought. We walked over to the 7/11 and she asked me “What would you like?” I pointed to this pork and rice dish. “Thanks” I told her. I suggested to her we should hang out sometime and I took down her number.

I was off to Kaohsiung. The trip was relatively quick and when I arrived I had planned to meet with two different girls. In the MRT, I opened another set named HB Shiny. I call her Shiny cuz that’s what her nickname was. She was pretty cute and I asked her “How do you get to the cultural center?” She showed me and the thing I liked about her was her good energy. She lived in Tainan so I took down her contact info and told her we could plan a time to meet.

My logistics weren’t good since I didn’t have a place lined up for the night, but one of the girls I met in Taichung said her parents were okay with me staying the night @ her place. I wouldn’t really call that the greatest logistics, but I was tired and wanted a place to stay so I agreed.

I met the first chick then I made a bold last minute decision to have the two girls meet each other. This would be interesting because I sarged the two of them, but I wanted to try something different. We all met at Kaohsiung Train Station. We went around to a night market then over to the lantern festival, which was really cool. I highly recommend checking it out. They had street performers, a night market, and a fireworks display.

Afterwards, the three of us left the night market. The funny thing is that both girls were kinoing me and they also offered me their jackets since it was cold. I wanted to get isolation time with the girl that was hosting me. The other chick had a curfew anyway so once we got to the main station she left. I did find a nice Spanish restaurant on the walk back that I’ll do a write up on next time I’m in Kaohsiung.

I was tired, and HB Tall (tall, stockings, boots, blue contacts, nice makeup/style) and I went over to my locker to get my stuff. “You do want to stay the night here right?” she asked for verification. I told her “yes.” I had another option, which was get a hotel room, and then head there… I was quite tired though so I went with her back to her place. I also plan on meeting her this Thursday since I’ll be in Taichung then.

I had good kino compliance when we went back to her place by locking arms. We went inside her house and her mom was inside. I greeted her with “Ni hao ma.” She gave me a nice smile, but was on the phone. HB Tall went and set up my room for me while I went in to her brother’s room to check some emails. Her brother was gone @ the time.

When she came back in her brother’s room, I joked with her and said “You could sleep with me.” She laughed and said “I would, but my parents will get angry.” After I was done on the computer, we went over to her room where I would be staying. She was going to sleep in her brother’s room. I had some light kino with her (holding hands, hugs) while we drunk some Taiwanese aboriginal wine. We both gave each other massages and I went for the k close but she pulled back saying “No, not now.”

The door was shut at this time, and I knew that we were @ her parent’s house so I told her “I respect that and I know your parents are in the other room.” I was so tired that I fell asleep right after she went over to her brother’s room.

The next morning I awoke to her lightly saying “Wake up.” Her parents were gone for the day, but she had to leave around the same time I was heading to Taipei. She asked me “When will you be heading to Taipei?” I joked with her and told her that “Oh you want me to leave so soon?” She said “no” I just wanted to know. Her dog (the cockblock Chihuahua) I would like to call it kept coming in the room and ran around seeking attention.

She brought me some dumplings for breakfast and I had light kino with her. To make a long story short, I did go for the k close and we ended up making out. The dog kept running around her brother’s room during this time. It didn’t progress pass the make-out. She even referred to me as “dangerous” when I asked her to get the dog out of the room so we could be alone. Later, when we left her place to go to the train station she said something to the extent that’s she’s not a good girl in a playful way. What I also thought was interesting is when I touched her in certain places she made a moaning sound. Def an indicator of her being sexual…

She has her own place in Taichung, but with 5 cats. I am allergic to cats so that won’t work out. I asked her to book me a hotel room for that night near her place. We parted ways at the train station. She even bought me a huge Japanese style cookie… Very cool girl and I look forward to meeting her again.

When I reflect on this, I think that I should have lined up a hotel room. I also don’t know if it was a good idea that I met both girls at the same time, but it was nice to experiment with something different. I could sense a little bit of jealousy with the two of them during our time out. Nonetheless, it was a fun experience crashing @ my targets parent’s place.

One of my friends mentioned the Naughty Nomad blog to me. I got a chance to check it out and I found it very informative. You will read about NN’s interesting stories about his travels around the world. I decided to interview him for you guys. Hope you enjoy the interview.

Basic Questions

1)	How did you get into pickup?

Like most people, it starting with “The Game” by Neil Strauss. My Dad actually bought the book home after hearing about it on the radio. After I read it I convinced most of my friends to read it. My journey started there…

2)	What is your dating philosophy?

Destroy young girls lives. But seriously, I’m all about variety. I only date women from other nationalities or ethnicities (non-exclusively of course). I’m very honest with girls about my lifestyle; most of them have no problem with my non-commitment. I travel too much. I’m of the opinion they’re lucky to catch me while I’m around.

3)	How did you get good at dating to become an authority on it?

Mistakes. I made a lot of mistakes. I tried everything. I spent so much time trying to emulate the gurus in the community, but it wasn’t until I developed my own style, one which I felt congruent with, did I start to see a big difference; the quantity and quality improved.

I’m no pick up guru; I’m just a specialist in exotic women. Each country is like a code waiting to be cracked. I found western game often faltered with linguistic and cultural barriers and I wanted to break past that. Over the years I had to develop new techniques to cater for different scenarios in other countries. Some shit worked, some didn’t. A lot of the stuff I was trying didn’t exist in the pick-up lexicon – things like shoring, pipelining and crunching (see blog). These were thing that sky-rocketed my flag count. Before I knew it, all my friends were using my techniques to pick up when they travelled. I was part of a new frontier – pick-up for the vagabond. I started the Naughty Nomad blog and viola.

4)	What do you think guys greatest mistake with women is?

No cajones. The number one reason why most guys aren’t successful with women is the fact they never go up and talk to them in the first place. Approach Anxiety will forever be man’s downfall. Furthermore, a narrow mind. You’d be surprised the amount of men who simply refuse to read books like “The Game” on ‘principal’. Guys like us who are willing to educate themselves on social dynamics, will forever have the advantage.

5)	In your experience, what is the best place to find a quality girlfriend?

I guess it depends on your values. If were talking about aesthetic quality, I’d say Eastern Europe. If were talking about quality characteristics, I’d go for Asian or African woman. It’s hard to come up with a generic answer.

6)	What are some ways to enlarge your social circle?

Befriend more women. It took me a while to develop healthy platonic relationships. Other ideas? Start a band. Take up new sports. Join societies in college. Learn to Dance. Learn a language. Do a course. Go out more and travel. Try something new. Have a fucking life.

7)	What was your life like when you weren’t good with women? What is it like now?

Frustrating and lonely. I used to get depressed and craved intimacy. I had zero confidence. I used to just stay indoors and get stoned with my mates.

What is it like now? Busy! But that’s not a bad complaint. I’m feeling pretty good these days, but sometimes you feel a little shallow and empty… I’ve hurt a lot of people. Life is about balance and I’m still trying to find it.

What is one of your favorite techniques/tactics?

Extreme peacocking. For those who don’t know, in September some friends and I spent 24 nights in a row travelling through the Balkans dressed as a Mexican Pirate. It was a blast.

I also tend to employ things like jealously plot-lines, anchoring and going caveman.

I’m pretty direct, but my opener is always the same “Where are you from?” Then I whip out some words in their language or some stories /knowledge from the country. It gets the ball rolling and it plays to my strengths.

9)	Do you use props? If so, what gets the most reactions?

Sometimes. As mentioned, I peacock a lot. Mexican pirates get the best reactions. When I’m with my crew we buy kid’s party hats and put them on cute girls in the bar to anchor. Sometimes, I whip out my iPhone to do the work for me by showing girls some whopper pics, like my name tattooed on my crazy ex-girlfriend’s ass.

10)	What is your biggest sticking point?

Approaching and transitioning – I don’t like to use canned material so I have to rely on situational openers or being direct. Sometimes, I go blank. For all my experience, Approach Anxiety still creeps in – especially when I’m sober! haha

11)	What pick up artist has inspired you the most? What did you learn from them?

The Venusian Arts Handbook by Mystery is probably my core text. I’ve also used material from De Angelo, Jeffries, Style & Vin de Carlo. A lot of stuff I needed to learn was inner game based; you need to have the fundamentals. I found De Angelo provided the bones while the others provided the meat.

12) Describe the moment when you realized you need to work on this part of your life.

I was in my second year in college and I hit a 6 month dry patch. I swore to myself, never again.

13) What advice do you give to newbies starting out?

Find guys on the same wavelength. Get out there. Read everything, try everything, and make mistakes. Repeat. The key thing is stepping outside your comfort zone.

14) In your experience, what is the biggest issue for guys getting attraction from women?

They think too much or come across as too needy. Girls can pick up if you’re treating an interaction like a chess game. She’s not a playstation. You can’t copy and paste techniques and expect a certain response. Relax and have fun.

15) What are your goals for the community? Your life?

As for the community, I’m doing my part taking this game around the world. I’m happy to pave the way, but I’d like to see more guys like yourself writing about. There’s just not enough info. Personally, I want to visit every country in the world before I’m 35. Then I’ll pick a sexy foreign wife and have multi-racial, bi-lingual superkids.

Specialized Questions

When did you start your blog and what made you start it?

I started the blog in April of last year. I was living such a crazy life and I wanted share it with people. I also felt there was a serious lack of info for single guys looking to hook up in foreign countries. I wanted to help fill that void.

How did you get the name Naughty Nomad?

It literally just popped into my head one night in bed. The next day I bought the domain name.

You’re quite the traveler! What made you want to start traveling? How many countries have you been to?

I’ve been to 58 countries now, including Antarctica and a few self-proclaimed republics. It all started on my trip to Antarctica when I was 18. It was the best experience of my life. In was then I found my vocation – to vacation. Since I was a little kid I always dreamed about being an explorer. The trip rekindled that passion. Now I refuse to accept an alternative destiny, at least in the medium term.

What was the most interesting country you’ve traveled to and why?

Ethiopia. I could talk all day about it… the women, the culture, the history, the vibe… Let’s just say it’s a very special place for me. I’ll have to dedicate a whole post to it; I couldn’t do it justice in this space. Second place would have to be the Philippines – it’s a sexual playground.

What was a country that you disliked the most and why?

Egypt. It’s overrated, full of sleazy con-artists and the nightlife is shit. Egyptian men are generally scum and ruin the whole Egyptian experience. A close runner-up in Russia, the people there can be very dower, even downright hostile. For me, the people make or break a country.

I heard you’ve traveled to Africa can you tell me an interesting story from the time you were there?

Where oh where do I begin. A lot of crazy shit happened in Africa. We jumped the border to escape Sudan, smuggled a kilo of weed from Ethiopia over 7 borders and decided to travel in North Kivu, a war zone in Eastern Congo. Shit got scary, I can’t even begin to tell you what went on there… I got a lot of the stories on the blog if anyone wants to check it out…

You dressed up as a pirate with your buddies for one-week right? What was that experience like? Did you feel like it changed you in anyway?

Mexican Pirates, furthermore it was 24 nights in a row. That was in the Balkans, we also did the same thing for one week straight in Malta. It was the most fun I ever had in my life. It didn’t change me, it just got me laid a lot. It did wonders for my friends though. It certainly improved their confidence. Life is more fun in costume.

What does it mean to collect a flag? How many flags have you collected?

If you hook with a local from a foreign country, you get a flag. Guys who indulge in ‘flagging’ are called flaggers. Check out flagging headquarters for info. I’m not interested in notches, only flags. I’m 24, and I’ve gotten 32 flags so far.

You mentioned pipelining as important. Can you define what pipelining is and why it has been important to you? How can others benefit it?

I think the blog sums it up best.

“Pipelining” is a practice primarily employed by travellers wanting to meet potential sexual partners in a future destination. Meetings are typically arranged online through social networking and dating sites. The objective is to have potential mates already ‘in the pipeline’ prior to arrival in a certain location, thus vastly increasing the chances of a sexual encounter with a local. The terms ‘Pipelining’ and ‘online game’ can be used interchangeably.

Can you tell us an interesting travel story? Maybe something unexpected happened to you while you were traveling?

My passport got robbed in Cambodia and I ended up staying there for several weeks with a Khmer girl. It’s a long story but finishes with her tattooing my name on her ass. To take some recent happenings, I just got back I was just got back from the Dominican Republic and Haiti. My first night in DR I banged a Dominican super model and beauty queen. My last night in Haiti, I got robbed and laid in the same night. Good times. I recently posted both stories on the blog.

Where are you currently? What is your travel plans in the future?

As mentioned, I just got back for the Caribbean. Next month, I’m in Eastern Europe for a few days before jetting off to travel the whole of West Africa. It’s going to be fuckin’ crazy, I can’t wait!

Do you plan on releasing any products in the future?

That’s classified information

I brought too much luggage as you may know and I had to pay for it this time… Not only that, but on the cab ride to the airport I got ripped off by a “Hotel Taxi.” Wanna know how much he charged me? It was 700 pesos to be exact. I would have gotten out of the cab, but I was carrying too much luggage ( a carry on bag, laptop bag, suitcase, and big backpack). The charge is usually around 200-300 pesos from Makati to the airport.

I finally arrived to the airport and I was already running late. In the morning, I lost my itinerary for my flight. However, the hostel staff were kind enough to recommend taking a picture of it. I did take a picture, but on my camera phone. I got one of the guys at the airport to bring in my bags. I had to go through security and have my itinerary checked. The security guy was nice and gave me a pat on the back. I really needed it. It was around 9:20 and my flight was leaving at 10:45.

I showed up to the China Airlines counter and guess what I saw? A scale right before you go to the front counter. “Oh great,” I thought to myself. I could put all the heavy stuff in my carry on bag so I don’t get charged extra… You can do that in most airports, but not in Manila… See in the Philippines they like to make as much money as possible from foreigners, and that means getting you at the airport. There was a guy checking the weight of checked in baggage after you check in to your flight. The people in that area were separate from the airline.

Nonetheless, I spent the next 45 minutes listening to the Filipino guy, who was working at the scale, give me horrible advice on how to arrange my excess baggage. He also told me, “ You can just put your laptop bag in your backpack and fill it with your heavy items.” The advice was horrible and I kept listening to it until I just said screw it as it was about an hour before my flight would depart.

I went to the counter and oops wait I thought, “Where is my passport?” I spent the next 5 minutes going through my bags to look for it. Finally, I found it… What a relief! One of the girls working for the airline, blabbered “You will have to pay fee…” She did it in a negative tone and that changed my mood from slightly annoyed to pretty pissed. I know I shouldn’t have gotten upset, but I started telling the staff to “hurry up.” In the long run, they did me a favor by checking in 3 bags for me. I did have to pay an excess baggage fee, but my carry on bag was not weighed.

I had to wait a little bit more time and my total was 2,800 pesos in excess baggage fees. The lady working at the counter looked at me and said “Sorry for the waiting, sir.” I paid for it and made it through the guy weighing checked in baggage. I only had a backpack and my laptop bag so he didn’t bother me. There was another obstacle and that was the 700 peso terminal fee when you depart on international flights. I was out of cash so I had to run to the ATM. I asked someone where it was and they said “Outside.” Where I asked them? I was ready to leave the Philippines!

Finally, I found the ATM and took out 2,000 pesos. It was outside of the international departure around where you have to check your bags in. If you have any trouble finding it, just ask someone. I knew the exchange rate for Philippine pesos is low so I didn’t want to take out any more money. I raced back to the place where you pay the terminal fee and there would be yet again another obstacle. The line to immigration was incredibly long and I waited in that line for what seemed hours. I thought to myself “I’m going to miss my flight!” I had a cute Taiwanese girl waiting for me at the airport in Taoyuan so I really wanted to be there.

There would be a good ending to this though. It was around 10:20 and I saw two people from my flight running past the line with a worker from our airline. I then told one of the guys working in the immigration area “My flight is leaving soon, look” as I pointed my ticket stub to him. He said “I don’t know.” Someone else ran back… It was the guy who gave me crappy advice on how to sort my luggage. This time he came to do me a favor. He got me to the front of the line. “Thank goodness!!”

I went up to the immigration officer with a smile on my face. “Where is your boarding information” he asked. “I don’t have it” I told him. He gave it to me to fill out. I filled it out so quickly and left some pieces blank, but he didn’t care. He was in a good mood that day. I got my passport stamped, but had to go through security. The usual routine: shoes off, belt off, phone, iPod, and walk through. No alarm sounded my second time since I took off my belt and put my phone through the security screening.

After the process, I got patted down one last time before arriving at my gate. Thank goodness for everything coming together so I could make my flight on time! As far as my impressions on the Philippines, that will be another blog post.
