What should you say to them? Ask Karea.

Karea is one of those dating coaches who you’ve probably never heard of but who your favorite Pick Up Guru knows and respects. He’s currently traveling South America and it was a crazy coincidence that LatinStylez and I met him (He found us by googleing for Colombia Wings and turns out he knows the Pick Up Asia crew). It just goes to show you all the different types of people you can meet when you travel.

1) How did you get into pickup?

I got lucky: when I was 16, I had a music teacher who was a real Casanova. He always had 4 girl-friends, he pushed me into sets when I was too shy to talk to girls and taught me more about women than about chords and scales. Years later, I met a natural who taught me a few more things and that’s when I really started cold approaching on my own. Only another 2 years later, in 2004, a friend of mine told me: “You know, there is a community on the internet of guys like you. They call themselves pickup artists.” I was skeptical – how much could these computer geeks really know about women? Haha. Little did I know. (:

2) What is your dating philosophy?

“Stack work is no less important for a PUA than it is for a comedian.” All the very best PUAs I know have a gameplan – Sinn, Captain Jack, Vision, Mystery, Style… If you write a stack, and then go out and run it often, it’s almost inevitable that you will improve. It’s also almost inevitable that your dating life will be more abundant than you will have free time for. I see the whole “natural game” trend in the community and it’s something I did for several years myself… until I got invited on Mystery’s Lounge in 2006 and realized that it’s the only forum where people consistently post 6-8 new lay reports a month each! Now, whether that’s your goal or not is a different question – but it sure showed me that there is something to this stack work.

3) How did you get good at dating to become an authority on it?

Enthusiasm. I love talking about girls and I love talking to them. What I was really looking for in the community were like minded people – cause most of my friends just got bored when I talked about chicks all the time. (:

4) What do you think guys greatest mistake with women is?

Rather than answer this question myself, I recommend you ask some of your girl-friends about the lame things guys do to try and pick up on them or impress them. It’s actually pretty funny (:

5) In your experience, what is the best place to find a quality girlfriend?

Day game. Two years ago I made a list of all my ex girl-friends, to look for patterns. All relationships with girls I had met in night game were chaotic, to say the least. Some of the most wonderful girls I’ve dated, I met in day game. Other great PUAs I’ve talked to about this topic confirm this experience.

6) What are some ways to enlarge your social circle?

You really only need one friend… he can introduce you to 5 people, who introduce you to 5 more people each, and soon there is no stopping it. The only limit on the size of your social circle should be the free time at hand. And once you have more friends than time to spend with, you can start to be more picky.

7) What was your life like when you weren’t good with women? What is it like now?

I already had a few little “girl-friends” in primary school that I snuck in the bathroom with to kiss, but around age 8 I got into the wrong peer group and ended up being mostly AFC until I was 19. From 19 – 21 I dated one of the prettiest girls from my year, which didn’t really help my social life much at all because the popular guy was in love with her and so all his peer group hated on me. Now? I’m now at a point where, because of my travels, I often have to start a life in a new city where I don’t know anybody – but I know that within a week or two I will have a beautiful girl-friend and a cool social circle.

What is one of your favorite techniques/tactics?

I’ll share a technique here that I came up with years ago when I was reverse engineering the secret to charisma. It is to treat everybody like they were your best friend from high school that you haven’t seen in ages. Not just any friend… your BEST friend. Really imagine you’re not talking to some dude you just met or to some girl with a bitch shield – imagine you’re talking to that one friend from high school that you had all these inside jokes with.

9) Do you use props? If so, what gets the most reactions?

Well, sometimes. I wouldn’t recommend to be dependant on props, but one thing I did for a while was to show girls some pics on my digital camera. You can obviously choose interesting pictures that make you look good, pictures of yourself being social, travelling, doing sports, being on stage, etc. But the one that always got the best reaction was a picture of a cat with two different eyes – a green one and a blue one. The girl would call her friends over and be like “oh my God, look at this cat! That is amazing”. By the time her friends looked at the cam, I’d already flipped to the next picture – a picture of a perfectly normal cat – and show it to her friends. They’d all look at her like “What’s wrong with you? That’s just a normal cat”. Haha. Good times.

10) What is your biggest sticking point?

State dependence. When I’m in state, I’m a rock star. When I’m not, I have AA… even after 7 years of cold approaching.

11) What pick up artist has inspired you the most? What did you learn from them?

There are four I’d mention. David D is great for inner game, Mystery for outer. David Shade is the man when it comes to sexual mastery, and Captain Jack when it comes to Framing.

12) Describe the moment when your realized you need to work on this part of your life.

When I was 16, the music teacher I mentioned above told me that he used to be shy as a kid. I didn’t believe him… he was the most charismatic and social person I ever met, always the center of attention and flirting with beautiful women. But it showed me that these social skills are something that can be learned and practiced… and so I wanted to improve. Now, 12 years later, I’m the one who tells people that I was shy as a teenager – and they don’t believe me.

13) What advice do you give to newbies starting out?

It depends a lot on where they’re at and where they wanna go. But if somebody is not getting results with women, I warn them to stay away from “natural game” products. If being yourself hasn’t helped you so far, it won’t help you in the future just because you watched a DVD. In fact the schools that teach natural game are usually the ones that have forums almost void of lay-reports.

14) In your experience, what is the biggest issue for guys getting attraction from women?

Fear. Fear of approaching, and fear of taking things to a romantic / physical level. Fear of saying something wrong and thus staying on safe, polite conversation. What helped me over this was to tell myself: “She is not my dream girl… she is not the perfect 10 that I will marry some day in the future… so this interaction doesn’t matter… at all.” Outcome independence, if you will.

15) What are your goals for the community? Your life?

Truth be told, I have achieved all the goals I set for myself in this area of my life… be it dating several dancers and models at the same time, or falling in love with one 10 and building an amazing, deep, exclusive relationship. So at the moment I’m enjoying the ride… but since I constantly work on my skills, the goal is mastery. You can always get better – there is no ceiling.

Specialized Questions

1) Why did you choose to come to South America?

I fell in love with this continent when I was a child, maybe 8 years old… we have family friends from there, and whenever they were around, I’d run up to them and go: “Cecilia, tell me about South America!” (: I was fascinated by her stories about the country… eternal summer, salsa music, perpetual smiles and beautiful people, great food and a cocktail under palm trees.

2) What’s the difference between sarging in North America and South America?

The three main differences, in my experience, are:
1.) Latinas don’t usually have bitch shields – they will be polite even if they’re not interested
2.) Latinas don’t cock block. If a girl sees that her friend likes you, she will usually help her get laid rather than sabotage it.
3.) Many Latinas are very catholic and conservative. They’re more flirtatious than Western girls and may even kiss you faster, but wait longer before they go all the way with a guy.

3) Can you relate a success story about one of your clients?

In 2008, I was teaching a lot of guys about relationship mastery, and I received great feedback from all my students. One of them was totally in love with a girl, but he didn’t know what to do about it and how to communicate with her… she obviously walked all over him. I coached him through the issues and I regularly get emails from him about how happy he is with the relationship now… it’s very satisfying for a teacher to see that.

4) Why did you choose the name Karea?

LOL. I had a different handle before, until a chick hacked into my email. Heaven hath no rage, nor hell a fury… The good side is, this made for a funny stalker story that I now tell in set sometimes.

5) What are your fundamental teachings?

There’s a lot… But one fundamental thing is definitely charisma – despite what I said about stack work above, I think it’s far more important to develop personal magnetism than it is to do body rocking or time constraints or negs or BHRR.

6) How do you differ from other dating coaches?

Much like Brad P, I figured a lot of stuff out before the community. So I know both perspectives – natural game and learned game – and how to integrate them with each other.

7) Your known as a “moral PUA” in the community. How do you respond to that?

Haha… yeah, I had a bunch of discussions with other famous PUA about this topic. I believe in pickup with harm to noone. I think it’s neither good nor necessary to destroy other people’s relationships, to cheat on your girl-friend or to lead girls on about your motives. If you truly have an abundance mindset, you will surely be able to find girls who are single, and be honest about it if you’re not ready to commit. Hey, I’m not pointing fingers here… I made mistakes in the past myself. But I experienced that there are ways to play this game win – win.

  Tell me about your products.

I used to teach a Relationship Mastery Seminar with a major pickup company last year, and I’m also working on a product about Relationship Mastery myself, but it will be a few months at least before I’m ready to publish that. I also wrote some chapters for the number one Mexican pickup book, and for a book that will soon be published by LoveSystems (former Mystery Method) – about very fast lays in day game (within 15 minutes to 1 hour from meeting a girl).

Currently, I only do private consultations (over the phone or in person) about both those topics – pickup and relationships. So if you’re interested in talking to me and unfuck some sticking points, or simply to take your game to the next level, get in touch through the blog and we’ll have a chat. (:

My best to you all,

So you took 3 years of Spanish in school, come to South America and realize that everything you learned if useless…actually…who am I kidding? You’ve kept meaning to crack open that Spanish book or watch those lessons but CSI:Anchorage, Alaska is on! And now you’re in South America and the most you can do is say a few curse words and “No comprede Espanol.” How are you ever going to meet girls? Fear not Puta! I’m going to show you!

I’ve spent the last 5 months in South America and not being able to communicate sucks. I can use non verbals and body language to get the chick laughing but anything else is painful. If you know how to constantly close girls who don’t speak the same language (without paying) then please write an eBook. I’ll PayPal you the cash right now.

These are the best places to find English speakers:

More educated areas:

Be sure to sarge richer areas and around colleges. Richer people tend to be more educated thus more likely to speak English. Colleges are your best bet to find people who speak English. Remember to speak slowly and clearly. These guys may be self conscious about speaking English.

Also, be sure to bring a cheat sheet with you. Have English sentences written down with their Spanish translation. That may the conversation can go on and you guys can stare at the paper if things start getting uncomfortable.

Hostels:

Hostels are great places to meet people in general. You got travelers like yourself from all around the world. The only problem is that sometimes you won’t find locals (“If I wanted to fuck Americans, then I would have stayed in America!”). Find a hostel that’s located near a bar. Chances are the bar has tons of foreigners and local girls looking to hook up with a gringo.

And that’s about it. By far the best place to find English speakers is the Internet! This can take a lot of work and I recommend bugging LatinStylez to finally write about his online method. Or get David M’s Inside Internet Dating for help.

Here’s a list of sites you can try.

Dating Sites:

There’s a million and one dating sites. I looked into the free ones. The problem with most of these dating sites is that you won’t find too many people on them. They’re mostly geared towards people in the US.

OkCupid

PlentyofFish

Parperfeito – This is a South America dating site with a focus on Brazil.

Social Networks:

Hi5 – It seems like people in Argentina and Peru tend to use this place more.

Facebook – Be careful with Facebook. While you can be in two different networks, you can only switch networks twice every 60 days. Search for your city name and join the group. Then you can mass text message girls.

Orkut – Instead of facebook, most people in Brazil use Orkut.

Couchsurfing – Not only can Couch Surfing save you money on hostels but it’s a great place to meet people. Do a search for girls who want to meet up for coffee. However, you may not want to approach couch surfing like traditional internet dating. If you make any mistakes then people can leave you shitty feedback. Instead look to any social events that Couch Surfers in your area are throwing and sarge there.

Language Exchange:

“Where are you going?”

“I’m going to do language exchange with a college girl.”

“Does language exchange mean she’s going to suck your dick?”

This was an exchange I got into with a female friend of mine. And it’s basically true in a lot of countries I been too. I had met a girl in Peru and her online profile said she was looking to meet English speakers. I met her, did my thing, and got a kiss close (No dick sucking though )

The problem with these sites is that often you can’t search by city.

My Happy Planet

Live Mocha

"Me Fail English? That's Unpossible."

Seriously Asshole (Ben Day Ho). Learn some Spanish. It’ll save you time and prevent headaches. You can even use the language exchange sites for legitimate purposes.I’m much more handsome, charming, and have a larger penis than LatinStylez, yet he closed more girls than me. Why? Cuz his ass speaks Spanish.

Use google, go to the library, anything!

Oh yeah. The top two places I found English speakers are:

1) Buenos Aires, Argentina

2) Florianopolis, Brasil

As you all know, I just wrapped up my South America vacation a couple weeks ago. I have decided to put together my Top 3 favorite cities in South America. For the favorite cities, I took into account the women, nightlife, things to do, and food. I didn’t make it to Brazil so when I do Rio could jump on this list… And I still gotta go to Venezuela.

#1 Lima, Peru

Larco Mar

I never expected too many things when we first got to Lima. I thought to myself it will probably not be that great and I didn’t expect to see too many hot women. Well, I was wrong! Lima, Peru has some of the hottest women I have seen in South America. I also found them to be very friendly. I never bounced so many sets until I came to Lima. The daygame there is really good at Parque Kennedy and the shopping mall near there. The nightlife in Miraflores has three different areas: Parque Kennedy area, Barranco’s it’s a bar street that has all different types of music, and Larco Mar- a bit more upper class, but has plenty of good looking women. If you are looking for a place to stay, there are plenty of hostels in the Parque Kennedy area (Flying Dog Backpackers). If you need something quieter, check out Inka Lounge

The food in Lima is pretty good, but I did get sick and caught traveler’s diarrhea from eating the ceviche. Be careful and make sure the food you eat is properly cooked. Remember to go to Lima during their summer. It is sunny almost every single day and when it is not summer a coastal fog blankets the city Limeños go in full force to the beaches over the summer. For info on gaming the women there, check out my FR’s.

# 2 Buenos Aires, Argentina

Tango Dancing

Buenos Aires, Argentina is one of the largest cities in South America. I had alot of expectations before heading there, but the city impressed me. What really did it was the nightlife. I remember going out my first night there around 12AM thinking it was kind of late and wondering why there wasn’t a big line of people at the venue. I later found out it’s because porteños don’t like to hit the clubs till after 2AM. The club got packed after 2 and I was out till 8AM the next morning. That was some true partying there. The women are good looking. Most of South America you run into the tan latina type, but in Buenos Aires it has more of a European influence and a lot of the girls are more light skinned. It’s different, but different in a good way.

The city is so large that there are so many different night spots for whatever type of music you like. There are plenty of places to stay in Buenos Aires. We met a lot of backpackers who were staying at Millhouse Hostel. We heard it is a pretty crazy hostel as far as having parties. If you want something quieter, check out Vanilla House. It is listed as Chill House on the Lonely Planet. It is close to Plaza Serrano which is good on the weekends- lots of bars and restaurants.

The food in Buenos Aires is superb. You can tell the Italian influence in Argentina by its food. Delicious pizza and pasta dishes are common. There are plenty of restaurants in Plaza Serrano and downtown. Palermo Viejo has its own share of food places as well. For more info on BA, check out this article.

# 3 Medellin, Colombia

Many of you may be wondering why I didn’t put Medellin, Colombia as my number one destination. The women in Medellin were some of the hottest I have seen in South America, but the city itself was rather boring. There were times I would go out during the week and there would be nothing to do. The nightlife is concentrated in one small area called Parque Lleras. For more info on the nightlife, check out this article.

Now, back to the good stuff. Medellin is regarded as one of the safest cities in Latin America. The mayor has taken great steps to enforce the law and improve on the city safety. Even the subway system is well protected, and also clean. While you are there, make sure to try the Bandeja Paisa. Typically, bandeja paisa includes grilled steak (either ground or whole), chicharrón (fried pork rind), red beans, rice, chorizo, a fried egg, and an arepa. It is usually accompanied by sweet fried plantains and a slice of avocado.

For places to stay, check out Tiger Paw Hostel. I also heard that the Pitstop is a fun party hostel. I ended up staying in Medellin a month so I got a good deal on a monthly rental.

I have decided to add a new segment to the blog. I have gotten many questions from my readers in the past and have decided to share the interesting posts with you. This question comes from Artist on the Korea Lair. He asks about differences in gaming Latinas VS Korean girls. My responses are italicized. This post is from a month ago.

Artist responds “LatinStylez, firstly you’re obviously a cool guy with considerable experience under your belt.

Anyway.. Good work! Your persistance is admirable.

I have some general questions for you and anyone else who has experience with Latinas / South American girls:

What would you say are the
- Most important things to bear in mind when sarging Latinas vs Korean and Western girls?
- Key points of difference in typical personality traits, social conditioning, and lifestyle of Latinas vs Korean and Western girls?

The context of this is sarging Latinas in a major city in a Western country.

Look forward to your reply ”

I respond back to him

Hey Artist. Thanks for the compliments they are much appreciated This is going to be a pretty long post as I try to decipher this. Bear in mind, I am still learning more each day about the Latinas in South America and haven’t even covered Argentina yet (which I here has a vastly different style of game than the rest of South America.) I am going to break this down in a South Korea and South America fashion (Countries I have been to). If I include Western countries like the US, I will be typing this for ages.

You know when I first came down here to South America I noticed some of the things that I was doing in Korea weren’t working as much. For example, in Korea I would move pretty quick with the sarge, but I find myself having to keep at a much higher pace down here. I had to readjust my game like to call out flakes more in Colombia. I would hit it off with a girl on the street then later text her and no response. It hurt, but they were growing pains.

Machismo Culture

There is much more competition with the guys as well. Most parts of South America tend to be machismo. This doesn’t necessarily mean you will get guys running into your sets- they may look like anywhere else. This can mean that when you are not around that another guy could very well be gaming her. Peru not as much as Colombia. The Colombian guys seemed to be doing well with their women. Whereas in Korea, the men are not as socially groomed to approach random girls. Here, one of the first questions you get are “What did you think of the Colombian girls?” So, it is a difference in culture on this part where talking to random people in South America is ok. In Colombia, most girls expect the guys to pay the bill (not all though.) Bolo actually had a set walk out because he wanted to split the bill and I had a girl argue with me over it. Generally, most Day 2′s I went on I was expected to pay the bill.

In South Korea, I had girls pay for our dates on several occasions. The girls down here might make it up to you by cooking you dinner or something.

Dance in South America

Dance is a very important part of the South American culture. You will always here people listening to music and going out to the discotecas with their friends as well. You can run dancefloor game here whereas in Korea I don’t recommend it as much. The Latinas are very expressive with their bodies and hand gestures. Don’t be surprised if you are in a set and she is moving her hand in other directions.

I know Korean girls dance too, but here it is more common to grab a girl and dance to some salsa. You can actually do this then once the song is finished sit down with them and run regular game.

Like Korea Most girls live with their family

You know in the West most girls are on their own. Well, in South America and Korea, you have to be ready for the fact that most girls live with their parents. The housing prices out here are expensive for families to afford and the pay isn’t as good as Korea or the West. This doesn’t mean your lost though set it up to meet her in your area

Religion

Religion is a pretty important part of South America. In pretty much every country I have traveled to you can see a church in a neighborhood. Sundays are virtually dead with most people going to church and spending time with their families. The church is a very important aspect of the culture down here.

Family is an important part of the culture so don’t be surprised if the girls tell their mom’s about you or want you to meet their family. I have had this happen to a few friends where the girl invited him over to meet her parent’s.

Text Game

Then there are other things I have noticed like the girls in Peru ARE WAY MORE RESPONSIVE VIA TEXT than Colombian girls. With the girls in Colombia, I had quite a few girls unresponsive to text messages.Korean girls are super responsive to text. On very many occasions, I would have them text me withing 10 minutes of our date.

Sexual vibe

I would say the girls here definitely give off a sexual vibe in their appearances and style of dress. The girls dress less conservative out here than in South Korea. This doesn’t necessarily mean sex is openly discussed, but you will see something different than Korea- makeouts. You see make outs on the street in Colombia daily and I heard it is even worse in Argentina. In Korea, it is unlikely to see this happening because of the culture. I remember being surprised when I did see this happen…

If you have any specific questions be sure to throw them at me. This is a pretty general gist and I know so much more can be covered! This will also be a new post on my blog so thanks!!

Artist Responds

Great post! It is much appreciated – the more detail the better. You also have a good writing style which makes it a pleasure to read.

As you have experience with Asians, Westerners AND Latinas, I’m sure you have some keen insights into the key differences between these girls – insights which the “typical PUA” would not have.

I have a lot of questions – a few of them are below:

For example, in Korea I would move pretty quick with the sarge, but I find myself having to keep at a much higher pace down here.

How would you compare the rate of general acceptable escalation of Latinas with Westerners?

Most parts of South America tend to be machismo. This doesn’t necessarily mean you will get guys running into your sets- they may look like anywhere else. This can mean that when you are not around that another guy could very well be gaming her

How would you compare the rate of general acceptable escalation of Latinas with Westerners?

(Answer will be compared to the States) I would say that it is pretty similar. For example, down here you will get girls grabbing your arms a lot and giving you more reverse kino from the start. I feel in the States that it is considerably the same with the kino. One difference, is the kiss on the cheek. In Latin countries, people greet each other with a kiss on the cheek. In the States, this doesn’t happen. When I was back for that week, I experimented with it and got good acceptance with it. If they asked why I was kissing them on the cheek, I would explain that I am Latino and that is how we greet each other. It was cool after that, generally they don’t say anything. If you ever make it down to Miami, people do greet each other with a kiss…

Quote from: Artist on March 17, 2009, 09:19:32 PM

How do you deal with Latino compared to Korean guys?

You know in Korea I would sometimes have guys come into the set and I would just run AMOG game on them and knock em out of the set. With the Latino guys, they have stayed out of my way (Heard in Argentina the guys approach girls like flocks, but they don’t try to get in your sets as much- we will see.) One thing, if the girls are in mixed sets which is common in Colombia, I show the guys respect in the set. They have never come at me the wrong way.

Quote from: Artist on March 17, 2009, 09:19:32 PM

In your opinion what are the key differences – in regards to PU – between Peru, Columbia, and Brazil? Other S.A countries?

Peru-

I have been here less than a week so I will give you my general comments. I have had a lot of the sets go well and have been able to insta bounce as well (two sets so far from day game.) The girls are really receptive to the kino and the PUA material. There is a good girl ratio and lots of good bounce locations for Day 2′s just had an insta date from a girl I met a shopping center today. Text game works well like I mentioned before. I’m sure working your social circle game with other Peruvian guys and girls would help out your game as well. All of the PUA games and tactics work the same, too. For example, strawberry fields sexualizing things and the questions game creates more comfort within the two of you.

Colombia-

Colombia has got to be one of the most interesting places I have gamed. I never in my life have seen such beautiful women. It’s just great sarging them. Then there’s the things that come along with it. I had another PUA friend hit the night venues in Medellin and would have tons of girls give him his number, but then he had a ton of flakes. The same thing was happening to me in Medellin until we started doing some day game. I was also newer to South America and my Spanish was improving so it would be interested to go back later and see how I do. The internet game worked well there, too. Kino is the same as Peru the girls are expressive and give you kino back and kiss you on the cheek to say hello. I have been running street game here in Peru with no problem, but on occasions in Colombia I would have girls get scared, because they thought I was another bum on the street. I wasn’t dressed as one, but that is just the stigma there with people from the street. The best thing to do to inoculate for this once in the set is to introduce yourself as someone who is visiting or be creative with it… Once I got to Bogota, my game got better adjusted and I got into a social circle. Social circle game in Colombia is also very powerful!

Brazil-

Can’t tell you much as I have not been there. From what I hear, the girls are very SEXUAL and sex just doesn’t seem to be a serious issue to Brazilian girls. This is what I heard from many others. They speak Portuguese there so the language barrier could be an issue for some people.

Argentina (Buenos Aires)

Argentina has the highest rate of plastic surgery in the world and it’s not a wonder many girls suffer from the “hysterica syndrome” which means yes-but no-but yes-but no-but yes-but no- goes way beyond flakiness. This is what I have heard here including the fact that you will make out with girls at bars and clubs and they will tell you they wanna meet then dissapear off the face of the earth. A friend who is a good PUA told me down there in Buenos Aires he had to calibrate his game specifically for hystericas and also the cocky funny and ftc methods didn’t work down there. He mentioned that when he was there girls would open and hook easily, but then he later realized that the girls there are just friendly. Boy, am I interested in gaming down there in Buenos Aires to experience all this and figure out some ways to push thru it. I am headed down there next. Cordoba is the next largest city and from what I hear the hysterica craze is not as crazy over there.

Quote from: Artist on March 17, 2009, 09:19:32 PM

Do you know of any Latino lairs which allow non-residents membership?

I am still looking into this. There are a few active guys in Medellin none that I encountered in other parts of Colombia. The guys who were there moved on to other countries. Argentina has an active community and I believe there might be other countries as well. I am going to look into it and get back to you

Artist responds.

Fascinating post! Much appreciated.

City Overview: Buenos Aires, Argentina

Obelisco in Buenos, Aires

I only had one week in Buenos Aires, so this could contain more edits in the future when I come back to BA. Others who have traveled here share your comments with us!! Also expats who live in BA it would be great if you could send us more info on BA.

Buenos Aires is a city I have always wanted to visit since my high school days. With so many expecations, would the city live up to the hype I had for it? The answer is a simple yes. As soon as we got into Buenos Aires, the European style architecture, and the cities personality sticks out at you. It makes you want to explore more of the city.

Dangers:

From what I experienced, BA was relatively safe. Still, you have to exercise caution when you are traveling. Remember not to carry flashy jewelery, lots of cash, and always use common sense. BEWARE: counterfeit bills lurk around. I was handed one without even realizing it. When you are in a taxi, make sure to look over the bills. The shady neighborhoods are: Constitution Estacion, the eastern border of San Telmo and La Boca.

Sights:

The main part of Buenos Aires is the microcentero. It has many of the city’s museums and historical buildings. Be sure to check out Av Florida, Obelisco, Plaza de Mayo, and Puerto Madero.

Sleeping:

We ended up staying at a hostel by the name of the Vanilla House. I highly recommend it and they have deals on long term stays. It is listed as Chill House on the Lonely Planet it changed ownership a few months back. The people who run it are very cool and it is pretty close to Plaza Serrano- where a lot of bars and restaurants are located.

There are also other hostels in Palermo Viejo and the city center. I met a few traveler’s staying at Millhouse downtown. Be warned it is a party hostel. So, if that’s your thing check it out!

Eating:

Buenos Aires is famous for its food. You can tell the Italian influence in the cuisine- pizzas and pastas. In Palermo Viejo, where we stayed, there are plenty of restaurants. There is also one that if you order from there you get a 10% off discount for staying at Vanilla House and it is very close. Plaza Serrano is loaded with restaurants and bars be sure to check it out.

Entertainment:

Buenos Aires is known for its nightlife and I was very impressed. The nightlife was very reminiscent of Miami- known for many different types of clubs and bars and open very late. People here don’t even go out till after 2AM. I learned that after going to a club early my first night out. I only got to experience a few days of the nightlife. The first club we checked out was on a Tuesday and it was called Le Cigale a lounge bar down town known for its Tuesday night. The night we went was on a holiday, but there were a few people there. The next venue we went to that night was Bahrein also known for its Tuesday and “Heavy Drum n Bass.” It was a great venue and a good crowd- I went the next Tuesday and it wasn’t that great, though.

The next night we went to Asia de Cuba in Puerto Madero. Well, they had a private party and we knew no one inside so we couldn’t get in. It sucked, but I’m sure it is a good venue. I’ll have to go one night when I come back to BA to check it out. The next night we went to Liquid with some girls we knew from the hostel. This was also a good venue with a mix of music and close to the hostel. The following night we went to Uruguay so we missed the weekend which I am sure BA has plenty of good weekend venues. Also check out Plaza Serrano on the weekends we heard it was good. There are plenty of bars in the area. Those who have been to BA and know of some more venues please share them with us.

Bus:

BA has an extensive bus network. The bus terminal is called Retiro and is three stories and has plenty of buses. Inside there are also cafeterias, shops, and bathrooms. Make sure to buy your ticket in advance.

Airport:

We came into BA from the Airport. The name is Ezieza International Airport. To get through immigration was very quick. Remember to save money take the bus from the airport into the city. If you take a taxi, you will be spending a lot of money.

Girls:

I found the girls in BA to be very attractive. They are also known as porteñas and hystericas. Hystericas is a term that Lumiere had told me about and I heard from others in reference to girls from Buenos Aires. It basically means yes-but-no-but-yes-but-no it goes beyond flakiness. Remember that Argentina also has the highest rate of plastic surgery and psychoanalysis in the world. But, I was only here for a week and I found the girls to be very friendly. While other travelers told me they had high shields, I did not think that. Maybe that’s because I’m a PUA.

What was up with all the girl smoker’s in BA? And a lot of chicks with piercings, tats, and not painting nails?

Overall City Rank: A

I gave Buenos Aires, Argentina an A in my city rank scale. It offers a great nightlife, cute girls, and good food. On the downside, it was a bit more expensive than the other countries and had more tourists- especially Americans. I like Americans, but when I’m traveling not so much. I like to meet the local people when I go out to the bars and clubs. Maybe I was going to the touristy venues? Another thing, if you party all night, you end up waking up at 5 the next day feeling like crap.

If anyone has any suggestions on where the local Argentenian hangouts are in BA, let me know.

Come try out Buenos Aires…You won’t be dissapointed.

Listened to some Daft Punk to get me in sync. Heard so many things about BA so many expectations. Like it is one of the top cities for nightlife in the world, the city that never sleeps, beautiful women, etc. When you want to visit a place for so many years, total 4, then you will have high expectations of it. Will the Buenos Aires live up to the hype for Latinstylez?

After listening to some Daft Punk Aerodynamic, I’m ready to go. Got a club suggestion from a friend in Buenos Aires. The name of it is Le Cigale. It is an trendy lounge in downtown BA. We get dropped off and the bouncer greets Bolo and I. He’s a really nice guy and we talked to him for a bit to get ourselves in the mood.

Once inside the venue, all the sets are seated. I heard that it was like that in Buenos Aires so I have to adjust to it. I hang around the bar area for a bit getting myself in the mood. Have a drink eye the venue some more, but not really any good sets. After some time, I open a 4 set sitting down… But, the chick is American. She’s cute, but I came here to sarge Argentinean girls. Oh well. I stay in set… Ran some cold reads, escalated a bit… She was with her friends cuz one was leaving so I told her we’d talk later and number closed.

The venue wasn’t picking up much due to a holiday. Damn bad timing. The bouncer gives us a recommendation. A club called Bahrein famous for it’s Tuesday night and the heavy “Drum n Bass.” He said it was good and if anyone was going to be there it would be at that venue. We get outside the venue and another American guy starts talking to us. He ended up being cool and we talked for a bit about Buenos Aires. We went inside the venue and look around. It’s about 12AM or so and there is literally not many ppl there.

We grab the free drink card and walk around the venue. I see a two set and go in with the Drunk I love you opener. Didn’t go as well as I planned- could have stacked more- but I decided to eject the set.

We were about to leave and i am glad we didn’t. We talked to some people around the venue and found out that the people in BA go out VERY late. Like 2 am. So we should hang around for a bit longer. As we are talking a cute blonde walks past me. She is from Germany. “Where are all the Argentinian girls at?” I ask myself.

Finally, that question got answered. The time is around 2AM and the club fills up. By that time, Bolo was getting opened and vibing with the people in the bar. I see a two set seated. I opened the obstacle about her hat then she immediately complimented my hat.

With the target to my right, I open her and from there I was able to lock into the set. I called Bolo in and he ran the friend. This set went really well considering the time I stayed in it. I ran cold reads, made sure to sexualize, seeded in another time to meet. But, when I went for the k-close she mentioned her “boyfriend.” Obviously, not a big deal for my skill level. Continued leading into more stories and spiking her bt. Good kino compliance other than not being able to kiss on the lips…

We bounced to the dacefloor which was SUPER PACKED! Let’s just say I was very impressed with the nightlife in BA. Packed club at 4AM awesome to me… We dance around to some electro music and enjoy it. Ok, I needed a break from the set so I eject for a bit…

Went around the venue and talked to some more people including a solid 4 set of a British girls, and an Aussie. One of them tried to be funny and make a joke about the hat I was wearing… I neged her a bit… I saw my previous target looking in my direction…

Went back to that set later ended up bouncing them out and headed to a food place…They followed our lead and we went near a river area called Puerto Madero- looking for a restaurant. I know it was her trying to be romantic with me on why she took me there in the first place… Haha jk…

Again, I tried to k close there when we were looking at the coast and was denied. Kept going with what compliance I had- hand holding, arm in arm…

After that, we went to a food place with them and I had already seeded a day 2 for Friday… End of night 7 AM… DAMN the people stay out late here!!!!

Impressions:

Buenos Aires has lived up to the hype for me- I enjoyed the nightlife
I enjoyed it so much I slept in until 6PM. What a waste of a day I know…

Stay continued as LatinStylez learns more about the electrifying nightlife of Buenos Aires. Will he be able to overcome the challenges ahead with the “hysterica” Argentine girls? Stay tuned to find out…

We are in a deep financial crisis and it’s only going to get worse before it gets better. You hear it everyday on the news about the situation America is in. You have to ask yourself who’s fault is it? I’m not an economist, but you can look at financial planning as the problem that we are in today. People put too much debt on their credit cards and mortgages and it really hurt them. Businesses were able to do whatever they wanted including giving big bonuses despite them asking for a bailout from the government. Foreclosures are on the rise and businesses are closing down everyday.

Amid all this negativity, I stay positive and believe the situation will get better. The problems going on in America have forced others to look outside for jobs. That is one of the main reasons I am overseas right now due to this very concern. My main advice is don’t borrow more than you can afford and watch your spending. It looks like we are listening to the advice because Americans are cutting back on their spending and lenders are being more cautious about “giving away” loans. When you look back at what was going on, the banks were literally giving money away to people who really couldn’t afford the homes. Living paycheck to paycheck, and when the recession hit and jobs were lost people couldn’t afford to pay their mortgages.

I also read a book that changed my life and I recommend this book to you. It is called The Four Hour Work Week. The book basically teaches you how to manage your life and gives you an insight of how the “New Rich” live. Wouldn’t it be cool to travel to Buenos Aires for a weekend to do Tango, then fly over to Madrid, Spain the next week to enjoy some Spanish cuisine? This is the life of the “New Rich.” Check out that book and also Rich Dad Poor Dad, which will give you a really good insight to the mind of someone who was very successful despite economic hardships.

Despite the situation we are in today, keep your head up and begin to find ways to better prioritize your life. Situations like the one we are in today bring out the best in people. We will get through this recession and we will prevail!
