Most of the time it means you're saying something they've heard before and not being as authentic with them as you can be. I used to get called out regularly until I started working towards deep change in my identity and coming to terms with my sexuality. That's just for me. You may have an entirely different experience. Best way to handle it, I think, is to treat it like any other shit test. Don't answer seriously, but don't deny it, either. Just make a joke out of it, like: "Oh, you've heard about me?" or "Oh yeah, I totally learned all my game from watching VH1.
